Belinda Carlisle has announced a new single.
The 54-year-old singer told CBS News that her new single would be called "Sun" and that it would feature on her upcoming compilation album Icon.
The former frontwoman of The Go-Go's first found fame as part of the band. The group made history after becoming the first all-female band to play their own instruments, write their own songs and top the charts.
Carlisle revealed that the band would be reforming this summer. She said: "I think The Go-Go's are more about being moments for people than the actual songs. It's an era."
During the interview, she also touched upon her battle with drug addiction, stating that she has now been clean for eight years.
Carlisle said: "I find more clarity with everything. I'm doing things I never thought I'd do nine years ago."
The singer, who lived in France for 20 years before moving back to America, added that she felt as though her voice "is much more mature now".
"I think I'm a better singer, absolutely," she continued. "My vocal tones are still the same."
What Belinda has to say about the new single:
Hi everyone:
I’m so happy to announce today that my new dance single, “Sun”, which is my first pop release here in the U.S. in over 15 years, will be released on March 19th!
When I first heard “Sun”, I immediately knew I had to record it. It’s the best song I’ve recorded since “Heaven Is A Place on Earth”, and I’m really excited for everyone to hear it!
The song will be available for download as a single on iTunes, as well as part of the brand new “Belinda Carlisle – ICON” album which will be released online and in stores by Universal Music on the same day, which will include my top solo hits from over the last 27 years!
I’m so grateful for all the support my fans have given me so far, and I can’t wait to kick off this new adventure! Will keep you updated as we get closer to the release.
For now, thanks for the support, and let’s get the news out there!
Love,
Belinda xx

Oh. God. No. Jx
I take it you missed her then ;
We never dreamed the same dream; we never wanted the same thing. Jx
I love her, like you of course :) the song has been played on the radio (byljgunni) but I haven't heard it yet.
I'm a bit surprised that she has only been clean for 8 years, that means she was still doing drugs in 2005, and here was me thinking she beat this years and years ago :(
Teddi heard the song on the radio (it was the song of the day on Bylgjan), but I haven't heard it yet. He said it was great, very much a dance song!
I am a bit surprised too, I thought she became clean earlier. I think I remember an interview with her though from 2007 (when the excellent Voila came out) where she said she had been completely clean for a couple of years by then.
Looking forward to the track, hope she makes a video for it!
