Timeless Diva...

Great news for Mylene Farmer fans.

A double DVD/BluRay, as well as a limited "Robot Edition" of Timless - Le Film will be released on 16/05/2014. The film was screened in more than one hundred cinemas across France, Belgium and Switzerland yesterday.



The tour supported the singer's ninth studio album, Monkey Me. The tour began on September 7, 2013 and ended on December 3, 2013. It played 39 shows in 5 countries. Over 535,000 people saw Myléne live on this tour. A live CD was released in December last year, charting at #2 in France. During its first week of release, the album sold over 70,000 copies (much more than her two previous live albums, even though they had charted at No. 1). I think it's safe to say that the Miss Farmer will have yet another hit on her hands with the film version.

Timeless, But Incomplete...

Mylene Farmer is releasing a live CD from her current Timeless Tour on December 9th.

It does however not feature the full setlist and does not include a video recording of the show. It will however be filmed before the tour is over and a full CD/DVD/BR release is rumored to be coming out next year, so fans might want to skip this release for now...



Mylene's latest single, "Monkey Me" charted at #3 in France (with 97% of the sales coming from physical formats). It's her 30th top 10 single in a row in France and 45th overall.

This lot includes, amongst other things,  the "long awaited" return of Miss Paris Hilton, a hilarious OMD video, the much appreciated return of Toni Braxton and what I think is probably one of the most degrading to women music videos ever made; courtesy of (who else) Britney Spears.

Timeless...

French diva Mylene Farmer started her much anticipated Timeless 2013 Tour in Paris on September 7th. Tickets went on sale last year and 200.000 tickets were sold on the first day.



The singer will play 39 shows in 5 countries, ending in Nice in early December. Needless, to say I can't wait for the Blu-Ray!!!

Tracks...

Time for the first collection of tracks for 2013. The year does not start off all that interesting, with a very disappointing Depeche Mode single and new songs from Hurts and Sarah Brightman that are not bad but just don't deliver what I had hoped for. Videos for both songs have disappeared from the internet (the Hurts video is currently being re-edited to remove some "controversial" matters, including burning crucifixes - hello 1989) and I have no idea what happened to Sarah's video. I don't dare to try to upload either of those myself, so I am not including them for now.

 But here is my first selection of the year. We have amongst other things some drag queens (courtesy of Boy George), an ex-Calling singer making a bloody Adele song work (for me, at least), a porn star with an unusual partner and Svetlana Loboda being rather dramatic over here in Iceland (she did NOT pop in for coffee - I am obviously very distraught!)

Albums Of Past And Future...

With a new year comes new music. And while I don't think it is any secret that I did not find 2012 to be a particularly exciting year in music, there were still some good albums coming out. Here is a quick look at 10 of the ones I was most excited about in 2012:












Sadly, there were not many others that peaked my interest. But new albums from Madonna, Sandra, PSB and Kylie in the same year is a treat!

2012 will soon be over, and we will say goodbye to what I consider to be one of the worst music years in recent memory (at least when you look at the UK & US singles charts!). Thankfully there are always some treasures to be found, but I for one am hoping for a much more interesting music year in 2013.

Another song from the upcoming Mylene Farmer album has been revealed. "Quand" is expected to be the second single from the album.

 

The music video for the first single, "A'lombre" should premiere very soon.

Monkey Me will be released on four different formats: regular CD, limited 2 disc in digipack (with Blu-Ray audio), a strictly limited box set (see below) and a double LP. The album will be released on December 3rd.



The first single from the album, "Á l'ombre" has charted in France at #4 without any physical releases on the market. That is all about to change though, since three CD singles are on the way along with a 12". These will be released on November 26th. A video clip should premiere soon.

Timeless...

The new Mylene Farmer single is called "A L'ombre" and will be premiered next Monday.



Tickets for her Timeless Tour, which starts in September 2013 went on sale earlier this month. She sold close to 200.000 tickets on the first day! Business as usual  for the queen of France then!

UPDATE:

Monkey...

Mylene Farmer will be releasing a new album, Monkey Me, on December 3rd. The first single will be released on October 22nd.




The news was delivered to the media via this rather lovely USB - no boring electronic press release here :)

The album will include about 12 songs, written by Mylene and Laurent Boutonnat. Work on the album started last summer and he tracklist has not been finalized yet.

The diva will also start a new tour - Timeless - in September next year - and as always, we can be sure it will be quite a spectacle! More info soon...

Premiere...

The new Mylene Farmer single has been premiered on French radio. It is called "Du Temps" and taken from her forthcoming compilation album 2001-2011. The track is already getting rave reviews from fans - and you can have a listen below. A music video for the single should debut later this month.
