The rumours were true: Mylène Farmer will release a new hits collection titled 2001-2011 on December 5th.
2001-2011 will be available in three formats: CD (in digipack), vinyl and as a deluxe 3 CD boxset (which also includes her previous 2CD best of "Les Mots"). The collection will include two new tracks, including a new single: “Du temps,” .The track was written by Farmer with longtime collaborator Laurent Boutonnat. The single will be released (and served to radio) on November 7th. The music video should premiere later this month.
Mylen has had a very impressive career since the mid 80s, becoming one of the biggest acts ever to come from France. To date she has sold more then 30 million albums and holds the record for the most number one hits in the French charts, with twelve to date - eight of which were consecutive! Remarkable - she has never had a single hit in all that time in the UK. Mind you, I find her breathy "ickle girl" vocals irritating beyond belief, and the fact she rarely if ever sings in English is probably a bit of a drawback. Jx
