Some bits about what is happening with Madonna these days. She is working extremely hard on her upcoming tour, which means there has been no promo at all from her for MDNA. Fans of course are not too happy about this - especially since this will surely play a part in the album having a short lifespan on the charts (not to mention since it does not have a massive single either to maintain public intrest).
Here are some comments from her manager on the matter (and some other tidbits - including, possibly, the next single):
*About doing one tv performance while Madonna is in the USA: if we can get further along in the next few weeks with the tour, we will do one.. We have one in mind.. but no promises..
*Performing MDNA live everywhere is promo. but I do agree and wish we could have done more. SuperBowl took 2 months
*About the MDNA Tourbook: i actually saw it last night.. the amazing Giovanni Bianco is working on it.. it looks incredible
*"Turn up the radio"is feeling like the next single
*Tomorrow night with all the press coming for launch of perfume at Macys will provide an opportunity to promote MDNA
*There will be a few tv interviews happening tomorrow night for the album.. but then back into Tour mode..
*Tomorrow night she will answer some questions directly from the fans and do some tv press..
*Asked wether they will do some kind of promo during the tour, like interviews or tv in local market?, Guy answered: thinking about what we could do live from each show.. we are brainstorming..
*I believe South America info is in next few days.. Finishing last few things...
*Asked about a second leg of this tour, like S&S tour in 2009: no idea at this time.. South America is next to be announced
*Madonna's latest single, "Girl Gone Wild" has now topped the US club chart - becoming her 42nd #1 song on the chart!!! The song is the second topper from Madonna's 12th studio album, 'MDNA,' which bowed atop the Billboard 200 last week with 359,000 copies sold. Just three weeks ago, the set's first single, 'Give Me All Your Luvin',' featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A., reached #1.
The speedy return to the survey's top spot grants Madonna her quickest span of back-to-back No. 1s. She had previously linked faster consecutive No. 1s when 'Vogue' ruled just seven weeks after 'Keep It Together' in 1990.
Madonna extends her lead for the most No. 1s in the Dance/Club Play Songs chart's 35-year history, pulling further away from runner-up Janet Jackson, who has 19.
*MDNA has been released on vinyl today - it can (for example) be bought from Amazon US.
