Tracks...

Time for some tracks. We have a couple of utterly delicious Eurotracks, the confirmation that Kate Ryan IS in fact a robot (no human could stand so much time in the tanning boots), a tacky summerhit and everything in between.

My favorite of the bunch is surprisingly a cover of a Taylor Swift song! Just goes on to show you once again how the production and (especially) the singer can make or break a song.

Just got round to actually listening to these (sorry). Another eclectic selection indeed...

Kylie - of course! The Gossip - love them! The Eurovision ones are quite jolly in their own way (shame the Greek girl/man creature forgot her skirt - almost put me off my food!), but funnily enough neither were in the top ten at our party... Jeronimo? Meh. Foster the People? Hmmm. Never heard the Taylor Swift song before, and I think the Father Tiger version may take a few more listens to get me into it.

However, I began to like that Kate Ryan tune, and I realised why - it sounds exactly like Trans-X - Living On Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9xBAtCsCTQ.
And The Sound of Arrows' new one has a rather unusual sound for them - reminded me a bit of Ace of Base!

The biggest surprise? You included my fave - the fantabulosa new single by Scissor Sisters on your list! Could our Henry really be warming to Jake, Ana and co?!

Love it!

Well, we must remember that there simply wasnt enough money to get the poor girl from Greece a complete outfit. They did make up for it with a gorgeous backing dancer though...

Thank you very much for the Kate Ryan thing! I couldn't for the life of me remember what song it reminded me of - of course it was "Living On Video".

I agree, the Sound Of Arrows track does sound a bit like Ace Of Base and it is quite different from their previous singles. These boys cant do anything wrong at the moment in my opinion, shame the album went almost unnoticed by the public, although it did get great reviews.

The Scissor Sisters song is a pretty good (Calvin Harris) track and a great single for them. They have been releasing some good singles in the last few years ("Fire With Fire" for example), and I still adore "Invisible Light"! We have all their albums but I have never actually played them (except for the first one, which I hated at the time). I just might end up finally liking them sometime after they call it quits ;)
