SOTD...



Today we travel to France. Back in 1988, this was the biggest selling single of the year over there, spending nine weeks at the top of the charts. The single ended up being certified platinum.

Then of course there's the video...

Funny how many French songs/acts made it big in Europe during the latter part of the 80s (Desireless, Vanessa Paradis, Mylene Farmer etc).

Hi-NRG/Eurobeat was extremely cosmopolitan - as well as the French we had hits from Italy [of course, that's why it was also known as "Italo"] (Spagna, Sabrina, Raf, Baltimora, Miko Mission), Spain (Righeira), Sweden (Ankie Baggar), Germany (Falco, Trio, Fancy), the Middle East (Ofra Haza) and even Africa (Mory Kante). I miss the 80s... Jx
