I hope I don't rain on your parade again. But I'm not expecting too much from this collaboration with Avicii. But then again, who do I know these days? How a sub-par country song like "Wake Me Up" can turn into a club and pop hit is just totally beyond me. Maybe this collaboration will put Madonna back on the charts....

Well, it seems that quite a lot of people are getting tired of Avicii. I am sick to death of the likes of David Guetta and Calvin Harris, but I really like Avicci. He puts a lot of emotion into his songs, and that's is probably what makes Madonna want to work with him. She has often said in the past that she wants to make dance music with emotion (Ray Of Light, Confessions On A Dancefloor etc). We don't know yet how much of his work will end up on the album. It seems that she may be teaming up with Patrick Leonard as well, which is always a good thing!

As for the charts, who knows? And as ridiculous as it sounds, when people reach a "certain age" they stop being played on radio. And with the lack of physical formats to support a single, a lot people over 30 or 40 just buy the album and skip the singles all together. Kylie Minogue has just released an intro single into her new album. The song did not get airplay on Radio 1 because she's "too old". It didn't do well on itunes, but she did release a CD single and a 7" (which sold out very quickly). With the combined sales the song went in at #12 on the UK charts - only her second intro single to miss the Top 10.

Madonna's albums always top the charts. For an artist that has been in the game for over 30 years, that really is all you can ask for, chart wise, these days. I have a good feeling about the new album - she seems to be taking much more time in making it then her last two. No other projects on the horizon that we know of, and I think she is going to deliver 100% this time around. But we'll see.
