SOTD...

Dolly Parton released the beautiful "Hard Candy Christmas" in 1982 as part of the soundtrack to the film The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas.

The song has become quite popular over the years and remains one of my favorite tracks from the queen of country.

Sorry if it seems I am ignoring your posts, but you know how I shudder over this "festering season" and all its excesses - and I never even start my own "curmudgeonly countdown" until the week of Xmas itself. Needless to say, I love Dolly - singing almost anything bar this... Jx

I'm well aware of my grumpy little anti-Christmas queen in the fair city of London, so I wasn't exactly expecting Christmas cheer :) At the very least, it's time off from work, yes?

This year I am so excited to finish school and not going back again until next autumn so even though I still have one course to finish I am very much looking forward to Christmas this year.

I do enjoy Dolly but I don't enjoy country music at all! But she's had some great tunes (right now I'm listening to her X-mas albums - but I'm sure you guessed that already).

Don't let the holiday season get you down! Hugs!
