I just got tickets for absolutely fabulous seats to see Miss Dionne Warwick live next month! She will be performing her first ever concert in Iceland on June 19th. And to celebrate, here she is with the SOTD.
"Heartbreaker" is probably my favorite Dionne song. Written by Bee Gees (who reportedly regretted not using it themselves), the single was released in September 1982. It became one of Dionne's biggest hits, reaching the US top 10 and peaking at #2 in the UK. She wasn't too fond of the song to begin with, but trusted the instincts of the writers. It paid off - not only did the single become a worldwide hit, the album of the same name became the biggest selling album of her career.
Hope she will sing this at the concert - I know she often performs it in Europe, but rarely in the States.
