You obviously know I love Xelle - probably the best song on the list, if only for its pro-gay rights message - and Richard Simmons was my "tack-o-rama" pick, for all the wrong (right!) reasons... So what of the rest?
Let's start with the totty (where better to start?) I would certainly love to come with the lovely Ricky! The song is a bit lame, however. It's sure to get airplay at G.A.Y, no doubt. And Cheyenne Jackson is incredibly do-able, but I just can't take a sub-Michael Buble, sub-Billy Joel to accompany all that sexiness. Speaking of sex... The Neighbourhood: great song, geat video, fab cock!
From the sublime to... the 80s! Italove are obviously paying a massive tribute to all those H-NRG/Eurobeat hits I adored (Miko Mission, Ken Laszlo, Fancy, Lime et al), and about time too! Love it. As I do the Matt Goss swing update of "When Will I Be Famous?", which is actually getting airplay over here on Radio 2. However, some "sleeping dogs" should be let to lie, and that Prince song is just unutterably awful.
Taking to the clubs, Ms Davenport's video is certainly (as one might expect of a drag queen) fierce - but not sure the song will work without the visuals. Mind you, even as a drag queen she still sings better than Samantha Jade, who makes Cheryl Cole seem like Aretha Franklin.
But OMG! Apart from the fantabulosa Xelle, there can only be one winner here (and I had to Google quite a bit to find the Western translation of her name) - Miss Olya Polyakova! If only more people would discover the magnificent tackiness of the Ukrainian music industry...
A magnificently eclectic collection as ever; thank you for sharing.
Thank you sweetie - I had been so overdue posting tracks that I still had a few to put up here. As always, glad to you found something to enjoy here :)
For some reason I'm quite surprised you liked The Neighbourhood - I adore it and it's one of my ultimate faves these days. Cute singer too, and quite naked which didn't spoil things one bit. The song sounds a little like Hurts meet Lana Del Rey, which is of course just fine with me!
The Xelle song (and video!) is truly fantastic! Cheyenne may be the gay Michael Buble but I still love the song. The new Ricky Martin song is a million times better then the dribble he came out (no pun intended) with before it, so that's good in my book. ItaLove are rather fabulous, this one and "Strangers In The Night" are particularly good.
Prince has had his ups and downs (I have always been a fan) but I do like the new one. The remake of "When Will I Be Famous" is a rather nice surprise. The same can not be said about Mr Simmons, but it's good fun ;)
I may agree with you on the Davenport one - I'm not too sure it works that well without the video. Miss Jade may not be the worlds most accomplished singer but surely she does not make the endlessly flat Cheryl Cole sound like Aretha???
Thank you for the translation of the Ukrainian diva. Olya Polyakova is now a name to remember in the Galaxy. I adore that video, the song and of course Lady Polyakova herself!

I am on a journey of exploration into Miss Polyakova's "music" as we speak... Jx
