Shame it's only her later stuff, really. For, apart from State of Independence, Lush Life and (maybe) She Works Hard For The Money, this was largely her "null period", the time when God and those comments about her gay fans and AIDS had largely got in the way of any degree of creativity...
It wasn't until Stock Aitken and Waterman and the Another Place and Time that she ever got it back. So, basically, a box set not worth buying. Jx
Well, I'm going to have to disagree. While her 80s period was not nearly as good as the 70s, there is still quite a lot of stuff to enjoy on these albums. In terms of the singles (and in addition to the ones you mentioned), I love all the ones from Another Time And Place, as well as "The Wanderer", "Eyes", "When Love Cries", "All Systems Go","Work That Magic", "Love Is In Control","There Goes My Baby", "Supernatural Love", "Dinner With Gershwin" etc. So for me this surely is a box set very much worth buying.
PS: I already own all of her 70's albums on CD and LP, but I was missing a few that are included in this box so after purchasing it I will finally own her complete catalog.
