Hmmmmmm - not sure about the "must have" bit... Jx
Whatever do you mean? A-ha were completely in their own league back in the 80s and have proven to be major influences on a lot of bands that followed. With groups like Killers, Hurts, Keane and Coldplay trying to emulate their sound, they have long ago proven that they were never the teen band they were being sold off as in the beginning. However, because of that, the overplayed "Take On Me" and the pretty boy singer it seems that a lot of people tend to disregard the group as "cheesy" - something that couldnt further from the truth.
Their "25" compilation from last year has to be one of the most solid collection of tracks from any band - and for someone who grew up with their music from day one, this last concert release is a must have indeed :)
I don't dislike them. I know they are not cheesy, they are actually very good! I just don't think that Aha's "sound" ages that well.
I don't like the Killers, Keane or Coldplay, so maybe it's just a difference in musical taste here.
Jx
I dont like Keane or Coldplay either, although I do like some of the stuff Killers have released. Anyways, I´m glad to hear that you dont fall under the catagory of people that finds them cheesy (it always ticks me off a little bit). Anyways, have a fab weekend :)
Yes it is a must have for me! Whooop!
Too bad they leave out the acoustic version of "Seemingly Nonstop July". I was so looking forward to own this song on CD :(
I agree. Would have been wonderful to have!
