Here are some tracks I like at the moment - including two tracks from the forthcoming album (out on my birthday on January 30th) by the rather fabulous Lana Del Rey!
I do like Miss Del Ray, the Gotye tune is quite cute, and of course I love Luciana!!
However, I was shocked when I heard the Scissor Sisters' new one last week - I loathe the rapping! It's just awful, and I don't understand just what they were thinking... Jx
I think the Lana album just might end up as one of my fave albums of 2012, judging by the first two singles.
I am not a big Scissor Sisters fan and I do agree with you on the rap - but there are other elements in the song that I do like. That said, I usually find Scissor Sisters to be rather pretensious anyways...
I have loved the Scissor Sisters' work to date, ever since "Comfortably Numb"! They may be a bit "art-house pretentious", but in their case (as with others ranging from Roxy Music to Marc Almond) it works. Usually... Jx
