Transgression & Physial Attraction!...
New Madonna interview!
The divas latest music video 'Girl Gone Wild' has been banned from open view on YouTube.
The video for the single, which comes from her new album MDNA, has been deemed too raunchy by YouTube. In the video, Madonna dances amongst nude and semi-nude male models and dancers.
The New York Post reports that executives at YouTube have called for a restriction on the video for those under 18 years old.
A representative of YouTube stated: "While we don't comment on individual videos, we review all videos flagged by our users against our community guidelines. In some cases we restrict flagged material that, while not in violation of those guidelines, contains images that may be unsuitable for younger users."
Sources say that in order to obtain an open viewing, makers of the video must edit out all shots of bare backsides as well as an image of a man touching his crotch in an act of implied masturbation.
The 53-year-old star's team are currently in the process of editing the video for YouTube in a bid to improve the social media marketing of her new album.
When asked about the ban, Madonna's rep said: "Some things never change. This is a throwback to [1990] when MTV refused to show 'Justify My Love'.
Madonna herself said: "I'm supposed to be a girl gone wild in the video! How could you go wild and not grind? This is the question that people should be asking."
To ensure a lift on the ban, Madonna's team are currently working to edit out all shots of bare bottoms and a particular scene of simulated masturbation.
Watch one of her best videos in years!!!

Ugh, she SO should've refused to edit it. This is ridiculous. There's way more raunchy stuff on youtube and even in ads in Vogue magazine! Just search youtube for Wendy Ho "Poop Noodle"! Part of me really wants to say it's because of it's *homo-erotic* depictions. It reminds me of when a famous firefighter made a topless calendar of himself for charity, and when it was publicized on the news it was called "racey" just as topless photos of Ashton Kutcher were deemed the same here in the U.S. on the news. When did it become unacceptable for a man to go topless? Or is it only unacceptable when the man is physically attractive? Madonna should so stand up against this.
I agree, this is absolutely ridiculous. But there's the power of the people for you - the viewers are the ones who flagged it, so YouTube felt they had to do something about it. The public pressure can be enormous, especially when a "evil company/organisation" etc refuses to "protect the children" or whatever reasons they come up with!
Of course there are FAR more insulting and damaging things on YouTube, and I agree with you on the homo-erotic part. Let's face it, pretty men dancing around in high heels, showing off their ass and pretending to do a big no-no just isnt going to go down to well with everyone - especially not when the big bad Madonna is also involved!¨
Judging by the comments from Madonna and Liz, I think they are just laughing it off. They have been through everything in the past 30 years and compared to videos like "Justify My Love" and "Like A Prayer", I'm sure that the fact that some bored people that hate Madonna in the first place (GaGa fans perhaps?) are flagging her video just isnt high on their concern list.
Madonna is however directing her attention to another, extremely worthy cause: the complete lack of gay rights in Eastern Europe. With threats about "shutting down the concert" and "we will arrest her if she breaks the laws" it looks like once again Madonna IS going against the stream. A shame she cant do it all - she really SHOULD be the president :)
