Thank god! After an extremely stressful week (studying for a math test which I hopefully passed this morning - fingers crossed!), it is now time for the weekend! And what better way then going back to the 80s for a song I completely lived for back in 1987 (and beyond).
My old on-line home, MySpace, is relaunching very soon. And I must say, judging by the promo video below it could be quite a comeback. Hopefully there will be a lot of people out there willing to give it a go - there is a very positive buzz about the relaunch and f***ing Facebook is way overdue it's death anyways (although I's guessing it will be a slow one).
Mylene Farmer will be releasing a new album, Monkey Me, on December 3rd. The first single will be released on October 22nd.
The news was delivered to the media via this rather lovely USB - no boring electronic press release here :)
The album will include about 12 songs, written by Mylene and Laurent Boutonnat. Work on the album started last summer and he tracklist has not been finalized yet.
The diva will also start a new tour - Timeless - in September next year - and as always, we can be sure it will be quite a spectacle! More info soon...
Sarah Brightman will be releasing a brand new studio album, Dreamchaser, on January 22nd 2013. She will also start a world tour at the same time.
Fans can sign up on her brand new official website to download "Angel" - a free track from the album. However, the site just went online and crashed shortly after so you might need to wait a bit...
“Angel” is a collaboration with veteran producer Mike
Hedges, who is known for his iconic work with the likes of U2, The Cure and
Dido.
“I am incredibly excited to be sharing this new music and to be able to
give a taste of what is to come on the album in January.” Brightman said in a
statement. “Angel is a track that is very dear to me, as it lends voice to some
of the hopes I have for the next stage of my career whilst casting an eye right
back to my childhood. There are some incredible plans afoot and the scale of
this song matches the scope of my ambitions for the next 2 or 3 years.”
Sarah will be making a ground breaking announcement LIVE
from Moscow on October 10th, 4pm Moscow Time, 8am EDT, 5am PDT. No further info has been made available.
Dreamchaser is Sarah's 11th studio album and joins such excellent albums as Dive, Winter Symphony, Eden and (especially) Harem. Oh, and what about that album cover???? Just STUNNING!
THE TOUR:
A presale for Sarah's fan community starts Oct. 9 and runs
through Oct. 11. Tickets go on sale to the public beginning Oct. 15. VIP
packages will be available featuring “an especially engaging and intimate
Dreamchaser experience.”

Madonna said on Tuesday she was being deliberately
"ironic on stage" when she erroneously referred to President Barack
Obama during her concert in the nation's capital as a "black Muslim."
A video clip posted on YouTube by audience members at the
Verizon Center in downtown Washington captured the 54-year-old singer
delivering a rousing, profanity-laced political speech about freedom during her
show on Monday.
"Now, it's so amazing and incredible to think that we
have an African-American in the White House ... we have a black Muslim in the
White House ... it means there is hope in this country, and Obama is fighting
for gay rights, so support the man," Madonna said.
Obama, campaigning to be re-elected on November 6, is widely
known to be a practicing Christian.
Responding to a media furor unleashed by the YouTube video,
Madonna issued a statement on Tuesday through her spokeswoman saying her
reference to Obama's religion was facetious. She said:
"I was being ironic on stage. Yes, I know Obama is not
a Muslim - though I know that plenty of people in this country think he is. And
what if he were?"
"The point I was making is that a good man is a good
man, no matter who he prays to. I don't care what religion Obama is - nor
should anyone else in America."
Since Obama's first presidential run in 2008, fringe groups
and a smattering of opponents have espoused rumors that he is secretly a
Muslim, similar to persistent but unfounded assertions by some political foes
that he was born outside the United States.
Madonna has been outspoken in her support of the president,
going so far as to rip off her shirt during recent concerts to reveal the word
"OBAMA" inked across her lower back.
Tori Amos will release her new album Gold Dust on October 1st.
The album is produced by Amos with arrangements by long-time
collaborator John Philip Shenale. Inspired by and following in a similar vein
as Amos's previous effort, the classical music album Night of Hunters (2011),
Gold Dust features some of the artist's previously released alternative rock
and baroque pop songs re-worked in an orchestral setting. The re-imagined
material for Gold Dust, consisting of songs personally selected by the artist
spanning her entire catalogue from Little Earthquakes (1992) through Midwinter
Graces (2009), was recorded with the renowned Metropole Orchestra, conducted by
Jules Buckley.
Tracklist:
1. "Flavor"
(from Abnormally Attracted to Sin; 2009) 4:08
2. "Yes,
Anastasia" (from Under the Pink; 1994) 4:17
3. "Jackie's
Strength" (from From the Choirgirl Hotel; 1998) 4:32
4. "Cloud
on My Tongue" (from Under the Pink; 1994) 4:23
5. "Precious
Things" (from Little Earthquakes; 1992) 4:44
6. "Gold
Dust" (from Scarlet's Walk; 2002) 5:45
7. "Star
of Wonder" (from Midwinter Graces; 2009) 3:46
10. "Programmable
Soda" (from American Doll Posse; 2007) 1:27
11. "Snow
Cherries from France" (from Tales of a Librarian; 2003) 3:01
12. "Marianne"
(from Boys for Pele; 1996) 4:08
13. "Silent
All These Years" (from Little Earthquakes; 1992) 4:33
14. "Girl
Disappearing" (from American Doll Posse; 2007) 4:06
There will be a deluxe edition of the CD which includes a 32 page hardcover booklet and a DVD that features
music videos of "Flavor", "Gold Dust" and behind the scenes
footage.
I love "Flavor" and "Gold Dust" is one of my favorites. I'm sure this will be a great addition to her catalog.
The info for the fabulous new Pet Shop Boys single has just been released.
"Leaving", the second single from the new Elysium album, will be released in the UK on October 15th in
several formats: two CD singles, 12" vinyl, and three digital bundles. The
formats will include two new songs ("Hell" and "In his
imagination"), the 2003 demo of "Baby" (part of which was
included in The MostIncredible Thing ballet), the original 2010
demo of "Leaving", and remixes by Pet Shop Boys, Dusty Kid, and
Andrew Dawson.
The pre-order for these will begin on this site (petshopboys.co.uk) next Sunday,
September 30th, when we will also give the complete track-listings of each
format.
"Hell" was written last year and was originally
planned to be included on Elysium. "In his imagination"
was written and recorded in London this summer.
Now, this sounds rather fabulous! I have been waiting for "Baby" to appear on CD for years (the song was given to Alcazar a few years back). I just hope that all four songs will be included on the CD singles and the remixes will be left for the digital release! I will post the full track list when it has been made available! And hopefully we will also get a video real soon!
Lana Del Rey is releasing a deluxe edition of her excellent Born To Die album.
Born To Die - The Paradise Edition is released on November
12th 2012 (November 13th US). It will be available on CD, download,
vinyl and as a special box set. All formats include 8 brand new songs,
including ‘Blue Velvet’ and the new single ‘Ride’.
The Deluxe Box set also
includes a remix CD, a video DVD, 7” vinyl of ‘Blue Velvet’ and four art
prints. The iTunes version includes a bonus track ‘Burning Desire’ available
immediately to those who pre-order.
Here is the brand new video from Kylie Minogue. This months K25 surprise is the official video for her new single, "Flower" (directed by Kylie herself).
Also: look what the princess is releasing for her fans!
"Flower" is released as a CD single and a 7" picture disc, backed with an instrumental version of the song. Each format is limited to 5.000 copies and can only be bought through Kylie's official website. Now, this is is how you keep the fans happy!!!
Sandra has premiered her new single, "Infinite Kiss" on Polish TV. Hopefully we will get the announcement of a CD single soon!
Sandra shot the video for the single last Saturday. The video was filmed on stage before the start of her concert in Poland that evening. Here are a couple of photos from the shoot.
UPDATE:
Sadly, there will be no CD single released! So, for the first time in her career, a Sandra single is to receive no physical release! I am very unhappy about this since I have been collecting her releases for a long time.
There is a promo CD out there, which I hope I will be able to get my hands on...
