It's Friday (thank heavens) and time for a rather fabulous song.
"Fade To Grey" by Visage was released in 1980 and became a Top 10 hit in the UK and a #1 single in Germany. The band released three albums before calling it quits in the mid-80s.
They are, however, back! A new album, Hearts and Knives, will be released next month and a single called "Shameless Fashion" is already making the rounds.
I don't think they will ever top the utter fabulousness of "Fade To Grey" though...
"Fade To Grey" was probably the very first single that opened my eyes to the fantastic world of what became known as the New Romantics. After Gary Numan, Steve Strange was my stylistic role model for many years (and still is, to a degree). It is good to see him and Visage back (again - he had a go at a revival in 2007, but it fell a bit flat), and I do love the new single.
However, nothing can ever beat "Fade To Grey" (not even that mash-up). An absolute camp classic! Jx

I agree - the original "Fade To Grey" is electro perfection. And it still sounds so chic!
