Kylie Minogue is to perform live on Sport
Relief later this month.
She will sing her classic number 1 hit "Especially for You" during the live charity event on BBC One on Friday,
March 21. She will be joined by a "very special
guest" for the duet, Sport Relief confirmed today.
Meanwhile, Kylie has unveiled her new album Kiss Me One on The Guardian website, ahead of its release on March 17. The album seems to well received so far by fans in general, although there are some that are calling this one of her worst albums to date.
Word is that it will make for a great summer album - sounds good to me...I am of course waiting for the CD/LP package to arrive in the mail :)
"Into The Blue" has finally been released in the UK and Germany. The CD single seems to be hard to get in the UK at the moment, with both the European and Australian singles shipping in 1-2 months (!) on Amazon.uk. I pre-ordered them both, so hopefully that means that my copies are safely waiting for the album to come out before my order is shipped.
Sadly, the song hasn't been doing terribly well in other markets - #46 in Australia, #70 in France etc. It has gone top 20 so far in Belgium, Japan, Croatia, Spain and Hungary though. It will be interesting to see what the song does in the UK - it is her strongest market and the song is currently at #9 on the airplay chart (while it is at #73 on the Germany airplay chart). I do feel it was a big mistake for Kylie to start doing that dreadful talent show - she has not been free to any kind of promotion so far for the single, or the album for that matter. And let's face it: most artists need to do extensive promotion these days!
In any case, I love the song and I am really looking forward to the album.

I know you don't listen to previews, but I do read "The Guardian" website... Despite the fact Kylie's voice has been somewhat "over-produced" in the autotune department, on the whole this is not a bad album at all (thank heavens)! Standout tracks: "Sexy Love", "Feels So Good", "Les Sex", "Kiss Me Once", "Fine" and (of course) "Into the Blue". Even the duet "Beautiful" with Enrique is OK.
Now, to get our hands on the physical version and play it to death... Jx
I am really looking forward to this - after "Skirt" I really need s healthy dose of Good-Kylie!
