Amazingly, this is the first time she has EVER won a Grammy, although she has received a lot of nominations through the years. It is about bloody time then!
News about the death of Whitney Houston broke out just after the ceremony. A very visibly emotional Diana showed up at the Pre-Grammy Gala in the evening and spoke about her reaction.
On Grammy night, Diana presented the award for Album Of The Year. The winner was Adele, whose reactions were like a drag parody! (Oh, and I wonder: does Rihanna actually think she looks good?)

Congrats to Miss Ross! The main Grammy telecast is so wacky now, they rarely give out actual awards...it is a shame that Diana's lifetime award only received a very brief mention. If you blinked you would have missed it. Yet they gave time to the mess known as Minaj. Thanks for posting this wonderful tribute.
Yeah, I (along with a lot of other people) agree! The Grammy telecast has become way too much about endless performances instead of actually honouring the artists. I am very unhappy about the fact that they didnt do more on-air to celebrate Diana. Perhaps they didnt want to draw any more attention to the fact that they had pretty much ignored her for 50 years!
At least her speech was filmed - I cant tell you how excited I am hearing that she is going into the studio to make new music!!!
