Tracks...

Once again, time for some tracks. This lot includes the excellent live version of "Cherry Bomb" by Kylie Minogue, the return of the fantastic Studio Killers, a couple of drag queens, a fabulous mix of the latest Madonna single, Paulina Rubio going a bit mental (again) - you know, the ususal...

Another eclectic mixture of songs! OK, here we go...

Carly Rae Jepson's video certainly caught my eye (he could definitely "Call Me Maybe"!), but she is just another Tiffany-wannabee/Avril Lavigne/Kelly Clarkson whiny girl singer, and I'm not sure the world needs another. RuPaul - well, what can one say? Fierceness personified... Miss Emeli Sandé is competing harder than ever for the Adele semi-soulful emotional niche, and although I liked her debut I reckon this one may take a little longer to get into.

It is lovely to see Sonique back after being so ill for so long with cancer - and I think, despite the lady not really having an awful lot to do on the record, this is a choon that is going to grow and grow! The Wanted song is also very catchy - but why oh why do they have to do that jaded "let's leap around and point aimlessly at things pretending we are 90s Brixton cool kids instead of middle class X-Factor muppets" dance? Almost as annoying as Conor Maynard, and that's saying something.

Manila Luzon? - you know I love this! And Paulina Rubio has that retro kitsch camp appeal that could indeed make her a Dolores Delargo Towers playlist divette... Eventually. But until then, we have true Pop Royalty!

Ah, Kylie - did I tell you I got tickets to see her at The Proms In The Park?! Hee hee. Truly fab, as ever. However on this occasion, "Our Glorious Leader" must take the crown! That Offer Nissim Vmix is one of the most brilliant mixes (of a brilliant song) I have heard in a long time!

Wow.

A few years ago I would have been willing to bet an awful lot on Carly being a one hit wonder, never to be heard from again. However, considering the overflowing amount of people without any real talent filling up the charts, I am not as convinced today. Still though, she does feel like a classic one hit wonder (but then again, that is what I thought of Katy Perry too!).

I dont think of Emeli Sandé as someone doing similar stuff to Adele - I like Emeli but I cant stand Adele. I guess they are not that far from each other muscially, but Emeli has the edge that is so deperatly missing from Adele´s endless snoozefests...

I like The Wanted - both of their albums are actually better then I would have expected and I like pretty much all of their singles. Their videos however (and the attitude from some of the members) often leaves a lot to be desired). And then of course there is also exactly what you mentioned!

Yes, I heard a rumor about you and that Kylie concert ;) So glad you will finally get to see her, she was amazing when we saw her!

And yes, the Madonna mix IS awesome! Thankfully while a lot of other artists (Kylie for example) tend to deliver some godawful mixes, Madonna usually manages to deliver at least one or two fabulous mixes for each single. Long live the queen!
