Tracks...
Part two of tracks I am currently listening to (or have been over the last few months). As always, some are here because I just like them, some because I enjoy the tackiness and a few because they finally got a music video! Hope you find something in here that you like too!
This lot includes, amongst other things, the "long awaited" return of Miss Paris Hilton, a hilarious OMD video, the much appreciated return of Toni Braxton and what I think is probably one of the most degrading to women music videos ever made; courtesy of (who else) Britney Spears.

Wow! So many songs (I know. I need to do a similar catch-up on my blog, too)...
Anyhow, let's get to it! I'll start with the ones I really do like - Ani Lorak and her boys, Kazaky (of course, my houseboys can do no wrong!), Father Tiger (of course), Agnetha (what a catchy number!), Cher's "Woman's World", Pet Shop Boys (although Mr Example's contribution is unnecessary), Donna Summer (timeless, and a great mix), OMD (great song, great cartoon), and, surprisingly, Britney (the song is fab, shame she's on it and not Diva Avari, Kim Cooper from Club 69 0r Sweet Pussy Pauline!).
Ones I am ambivalent about (OK, but nothing spectacular) - Misty, Marina and the Diamonds, Cher's "I Hope You Find It", The Killers, Mylene Farmer, the new one by Avicii.
Needs more time - Alison Moyet's new one (I just can't get over how UNWELL she looks in that video, and the song is so, um, edgy...), ditto Goldfrapp.
Ones I don't like - Donkeyboy (not my kind of music), Ellie Goulding (I don't like her voice at all), Diana Vickers (ewww), Naughty Boy ft Sam Smith (shut that bloody woman's stutter up!), Toni Braxton (sorry, never liked her sub-Whitney wibbling), JLS (quit. now.), Max Barskih (tiresome), DJ BoBo (cringeworthy - far better listen to Rockwell's original), Paris fucking Hilton (???!!!).
WTF moment? - Breach (love the song, weirdest video of the lot!)
So, of course, the inevitable winner (if there needs to be one) just has to be Kylie and Laura - I love it!
I am exhausted... Now you've kicked me up the arse, I suppose I'd better get blogging my selection (there may be one or two similarities no doubt).
Keep up the great work!
Jx
Glad that you found something in there to enjoy :)
Obviously, Paris and Mr Bobo fall under the tackiness category (I find it astonishing that Bobo has had a very successful career in some parts of Europe for 20 years!).
The Britney song is indeed a surprise but I agree, it would be even better without, well, Britney! Miss Moyet has been looking rather unwell lately, I think she´s is just way too thin these days for her bone structure.
I absolutely adore "I Hope You Find It" - normally, not a song for me at all, but the magic of Cher makes it fantastic. "Thursday" would probably be even better without Example, but then again I hardly notice him in the song. I agree about the Naught Boy song - I really like the song but that stutter part almost ruins it for me!
As much as I usually hate these Whitney-like R&B singers, somehow I have always loved me some Toni. And my lovely Max will never be tiresome in my ears/eyes. Ellie Goulding has had two tracks so far that I like, but I don't care much for her though. You will be glad to know that this is the final (at least for a while, until they pull a Take That) single from JLS.
I very much enjoy the Laura/Kylie duet too, great to hear a good song from Miss Minogue after the likes of "Timebomb" and "Skirt".
I look forward to your own selection :)
