The pop superstar marks today's release of
new album Kiss Me Once with a MasterCard Priceless gig.
"I love performing in the UK and can't
wait to get on stage in front of such an intimate crowd," Minogue said. "Having the opportunity to get up
close and personal with my fans is Priceless. I'm looking forward to sharing
the music from my brand new album - and a fun night with my fans!"
Head of brand and sponsorship at MasterCard
UK & Ireland Shaun Springer added: "It doesn't get much better than
seeing the iconic pop princess herself, Kylie Minogue, in such a great setting.
It's set to be an unforgettable night for the fans."
The audience will be made up of 300
MasterCard holders who won tickets in an online ballot. Minogue also plays a more traditional UK
arena tour later this year (see above).
Kylie's new single "Into The Blue" has gone in at #12 on the UK singles chart. No support from Radio 1, no promotion and pretty low sales on iTunes, the song did get very good airplay on other UK stations and sold well on physical formats. Had she done a couple of TV performances, it would have gone Top 10. Being on some reality talent show does not do the trick! This is only the second time in her career that an intro single does not enter the top 10 (the other one was "Some Kind Of Bliss" back in 1997). That said, this is still a very respectable chart position for an artist that has been releasing music for such a long time. It's just a little annoying that she hasn't done any promo for it. The album is out now (#2 in the UK midweeks, behind George Michael), but I don't expect any real promo for that either. It has been getting generally positive reviews - my limited box set just arrived so it won't be long before I finally hear the album.
In the meantime, here are some recent interviews. If only she had been able to take the time for a couple of performances as well. She will be a guest on Graham Norton early next month though, so fingers crossed for a performance...

While there has not been any official confirmation of Kylie's next single, it seems that she will release a limited 7" for Record Store Day next month. The title should be announced on March 20th - but could very well be something completely different from the actual next single. Collectors stay tuned...
UPDATE:
It's an unreleased song! The title is "Golden Boy" and should be released on April 19th. View all the titles here

The limited box set has completely sold out at £45 a pop... Jx
Yebb - not to mention 30 pounds for shipping! People in the UK complaining about paying 5 pounds for shipping should take note...
It's a beautiful item and one we are glad to have in our collection (and we gave the 7" of "Into The Blue" a spin yesterday too - felt like 1988 all over again) ;)
I was giving a few seven-inchers a spin in 1988, too. Jx
